Perfect according to who?

I have talked often about the destructiveness of perfectionism. However, it becomes a wonderful opportunity for self-awareness when we begin to ask ourselves, “Perfect according to who?” So often our definition of “perfect” is discolored by media standards, religious influence, cultural pressures, etc. The question then becomes, “How do I define perfect?” and “Is it attainable?” An even better shortcut would be to ask, “What if perfection is already present in my life at this moment?”
