“I wonder.” These two words can turn the most fearful of situations into a playground of curiosity if we are willing. For example: If I am feeling fearful about an upcoming trip and have never flown on an airplane before, I can reframe my anxiety by saying, “I wonder if it feels like … ” and inserting a type of transportation that I am familiar with that does not produce fear. The unknown does not have to be scary if we have the tools to help us.
