Spring brings lillies of the valley and lillies of the valley remind me of my grandma. First because she grew them in her flower beds and second because of their tenacity and strength to breakthrough any ground (much like dandelions). At 50 years old my grandma became a widow and was asked by her doctor, “Esther, what have you always wanted to do in life?” She responded with travel and she spent her remaining 39 years doing just that. She visited the pyramids of Egypt, kissed the Blarney Stone (upside down mind you) in Ireland and breathed in the flowers of Hawaii. She inspired me when I was young and continues to inspire me. Always remember you are as strong as you believe you are.
