When I was younger, I remember a persistent feeling of shame around my intelligence and the belief that I was stupid. I’m not sure exactly when this belief began but I know when it stopped. When I turned 30, I started to identify my strengths (rather than my weaknesses) and realized that I was incredibly intelligent. I am an exceptional writer, communicator and my emotional intelligence is high. These gifts demonstrate intelligence as much as math scores. I just needed to redefine the word and believe it.
